I have started to animate this and i plan to create two other rooms in the house in the same way for my complete animated story. I have animated the journey part of my story with paper and drawn animation.

I was inspired by the following documentary by Colm Martin, its 30 mins but worth watching. [It was part of the BBC Four series 'The Waiting Room']
The character I have worked on is a Laundrette owner/manager and an incident where a drunk man comes into the laundrette causes a scene and has to be chucked out by the police. This idea has been further developed which I will explain in my next post later today.

Mr Fish hates his neighbours and dislikes interacting with anyone but his friends, for this reason he awakes in the evening when the rest of the town is going to sleep and rests when everyone else is going about their day. I’m making a pop up book to show the habitat and life cycle of Mr Fish. Using this format allows me a greater depth of environment and also allows for movement and changes within the drawing.
’24hr Monotonous Viewing: Capturing Jack’s Spirit’
Utilizing a device composed to replicate the atmosphere in Jack Kerouac’s apartment during one day in his 27-day typing marathon. Losing 2.27 litres of water from the body through frenetic activity.
Propose a flash-based drawing/ animation for my current website – www.the-story-of-how-a-story-was-made.moonfruit.com – that brings to life the sense of time and spatial awareness of a obessive-compulsive individual, within a confined apartment.
Only one page is shown at the moment, but will consist of several transparent layers, revealing the technical setup of the device in the furtherest layer of the drawing without losing the atmosphere.
The story is about Tony who has agoraphobia. He hasn’t left his house for 30 years, and during this time, he has painted images which have sprung from his imagination. One day with the help of a friend, he decides to hold an exhibition. So, they advertise in some newspapers and TV programs. The day of the exhibition, everyone comes to see the exhibition. Everyone loves his paintings especially because they think these are the works of a man who is different from other artists, and his difficulty in spatial orientation makes his art unique. That’s why everyone start sending him emails, and visit his website and all his exhibitions, and respect him for his unique style and personality.
But, the truth is that Tony does not exist in the real world. he is an imaginary character created by a businessan who uses “Tony” to make him famous between people and earn money. He has a big company based in London, including a group of people who update Tony’s website, another group to answer the fan-mails, a research group to find unknown painters in different countries, some lawyers to make contract with these painters, to paint for them without signature, and other painters in London to change the paintings a bit. Each of these groups are led by a group leader who is in touch with the businessman, and has meetings to decide about everything. No one else, apart from group leaders, know the businessman who has a secret office in Manchester and control everything from there.
In this story, Tony and his works are the interface between people and this company. On the other hand, group leaders are interface between the businessman and people who work in the company.
